Whether you’re in town for family, business, or to enjoy the town for its many murals, you’re sure to have a memorable experience at Stony Plain. There is something so charming about small towns, and ours certainly lives up to the hype - with plenty of delicious independent restaurants, beautiful outdoor hikes, and friendly local people, how can you not love Stony Plain? To make your experience even better, here are a couple of exciting events we’re looking forward to this season:

If you’re an avid reader, then you’ll love the Emerging Authors Showcase, happening at the Keephills Community Hall on November 3rd - at this event, you are ‘serenaded’ by stories from budding local storytellers, while relaxing with a cup of mulled wine or apple cider. Afterwards, you may choose to mingle, chat with the authors, and purchase your favourite books from the evening. What could be better?

On November 15th, Stony Plain will host their annual family-friendly Christmas Light Up event on 50 Street, where the town’s holiday tree will officially light up for the season! The event will be kicked off with carolers singing classic Christmas tunes, while Santa Claus makes his first appearance of the season, and the festive holiday lights and tree aglow. Local businesses will also be participating in the ‘Treat or Treasure Hunt, and the town will select a winner for the children’s Christmas Light Up Colouring Contest. The winning picture will earn a cash prize as well as an opportunity to be the first to have their picture taken with Santa! To keep the adults entertained, there will be hot chocolate, hot dogs, and burgers prepared by the Stony Plain Kinsmen Club.

After the day’s excitement, be sure to indulge at the Power Plant Grill diner, located conveniently within our hotel! Open late (until 10pm Sunday-Wednesday, and until midnight Thursday-Saturday), you can kick back with a beer and watch the game, or discuss the day’s adventures and gossip with friends over late-night dessert. We hope you enjoy your stay at the Ramada!
