Kick off the holiday season in Edmonton with The Festival of Trees. This event is in its 36th year and is hosted by the University Hospital Foundation. This year’s event is moving forward despite COVID-19, but is going to look a little different. The Festival of Trees Edmonton is going virtual, with a variety of online events planned. These include story time with Mrs. Clause, a video call with Santa, and even an online auction. The event will last one month, starting November 20 and ending December 20.
Take part in one of the most unique holiday attractions in the Edmonton area, The Canadian Tire Magic of Lights at Castrol Raceway. In total, over 1 million lights are being used, as well as digital animation technology, in order to depict the most beloved characters and scenes of the season. This year’s event will feature the all-new “Ornament Alley,” as well as fan favourites from past years, like “The 12 Days of Christmas” and “The Night Before Christmas. Tickets are sold by car and are available online. The event kicks off November 20 and will run until January 2.
Santa’s Hollyday Blitz is back for the 9th year in a row. This is by far the largest holiday event in all of Stony Plain and this year, it’s taking place on November 28 and 29 at the Heritage Pavilion. During this Christmas extravaganza event, you will be able to peruse the booths of over 100 vendors. It’s the perfect place to do some gift shopping, as you’ll find everything from clothing, jewellery, and beauty products to toys, games, and books here.
